Ronald Snijders is widely regarded as the most swinging flutist in the Netherlands. Matthijs van Nieuwkerk dubbed him “The legend,” while the famous American pianist Chick Corea praised him as “A great flautist and an excellent composer”. Snijders has showcased his virtuosity on stages such as the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, BIM-huis, and the North Sea Jazz Festival, captivating audiences with his captivating performances. With over fifty albums to his name, predominantly featuring his own compositions in various ensembles, from solo to orchestral, Snijders demonstrates his versatility as a musician. In addition to his performances, he is also an ethnomusicologist, graduating from the University of Amsterdam with a focus on popular Surinamese kaseko music. 

Ronald Snijders, born in 1951 in Paramaribo, Suriname, is a renowned flutist and composer known for blending Afro-Surinamese rhythms with jazz and world music. With over 60 albums to his name and accolades like the “Touch of Jazz” award, Ronald’s influence extends worldwide. Celebrating his 70th birthday in 2021, he continues to inspire audiences globally.
His dedication to music has earned him numerous awards, including the prestigious Boy Edgar Award, and recognition for his role in bridging cultural differences through music. Ronald Snijders continues to push boundaries and inspire audiences worldwide with his exceptional talent and unwavering passion for music.
