Within the board of the Suriname Jazz Festival, Lygia proudly serves as the Co-chair, a role that reflects her passion for music. Music has been a source of inspiration and connection for her, and she’s committed to promoting and celebrating it through this role.

Her educational journey led her to Rotterdam, where she pursued her studies and honed her skills in Hotel & Event Management and Marketing. Armed with her degree, she made the conscious decision to return to her roots in Suriname to put her knowledge and experience into practice. Today, Lygia proudly wears multiple hats as an entrepreneur and a professional. She is the founder of her own startup, specializing in event planning and brand management, with a primary focus on the corporate industry. Simultaneously, she serves as the marketing, sales, and public relations lead for another privately owned company, broadening her horizons in various sectors and industries.
